AutoStore System, Inc in Atlanta, USA, is seeking a Principal Architect to own a substantial portion of our middleware. You will partner with engineering leadership to shape the technical vision, craft scalable end-to-end designs, and ensure secure, observable integration between cloud services and on-prem systems.

The role requires deep experience in distributed systems, APIs/messaging, and delivering complex platform architectures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 3+ in an architect capacity.
• Experience in both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Warehouse logistics, automation, or intralogistics domain exposure (preferred).
• Strong experience with modern programming languages and platforms relevant to control systems, orchestration, middleware, or large-scale backend services.
• Proven design of orchestration/coordination layers or middleware across subsystems.
• Experience defining APIs and integration contracts between independently-owned systems.
• Ability to reason about performance, throughput, reliability, and failure modes in physical or operational environments.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Define API, messaging, and integration contracts across platform components and external interfaces.
• Contribute to the CubeVerse architecture with secure, scalable end-to-end connectivity from on-prem to cloud services.

• Define data flows and architectural patterns supporting performance and reliability.
• Define scalable coordination patterns across controllers and operational domains.
• Own architecture decisions, reference designs, and engineering standards; mentor engineers.
