Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. in Colorado is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical and thermal solutions for advanced antenna products, supporting phased array modules and RF components from design through validation.

You will collaborate with RF engineers, test professionals, and manufacturing teams to optimize housings, heatsinks, and thermal interfaces, while applying MIL-STD-810 considerations and CFD/FEA simulations. A strong background in CAD/CAE is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; BSEE or equivalent with 12+ years’ experience.
• Strong CAD proficiency and experience with FEA/CFD tools.
• Familiarity with RF packaging, PCB materials, CTE matching, and hermetic sealing.
• Ability to collaborate with electrical, RF, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical housings, heat sinks, and support structures for electronic assemblies using 3-D CAD.
• Evaluate fabrication approaches and communicate cost and schedule impacts.
• Trade design options to balance cost, performance, and timelines.
• Support test and interface structures with defined mechanical interfaces.
• Apply thermal design fundamentals and select TIMs and heatsinks.
