Shift your career into high gear with BAE Systems.We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer with experience in the area of electronic packaging for the design and development of military communication and sensing equipment. The candidate shall be well versed in using solid modeling tools (CREO preferred) and have a proven capability in applying those tools within the design and review process with demonstrated creativity. A familiarity with a comprehensive design process is required including conceptual and final design, support to procurement, work hands-on with assembly personnel, engineering test, debug, integration and support of product qualification. The use of commercially available schedule tools and application of those tools within EVMS is a plus.The candidate shall possess an understanding in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of materials, materials selection and the ability to apply those principles to unique mechanical design challenges. The ability to perform thermal and/or structural analysis using industry simulation tools (ANSYS Workbench preferred) is a plus. The ability to lead small design teams and to effectively communicate within the team is required. Candidate shall also be able to work within a broader program team and be able to communicate across functional boundaries in order to solve problems and achieve common goals.The candidate shall possess good written and verbal communication skills.Experience in mentorship of less experienced engineers is a plus.**Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status**
