Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems seeks a Mechanical Engineer for the Sentinel Program. The role designs mechanical and electrical hardware and supports hardware integration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include applying ASME processes, creating 3‑D models in NX, and leading design reviews as the design author for product baseline release. Candidates need a Mechanical Engineering degree and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance at time of application; SAP approval.
• CAD modeling experience with Siemens NX or similar tools.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply ASME standard processes to identify, design, and procure electrical and mechanical hardware.
• Support design of integrated assemblies per decomposed requirements, compliance docs, and architecture diagrams for Sentinel design reviews.
• Create design artifacts including 3‑D models and product definition packages using Siemens NX and PLM (Teamcenter).
• Collaborate across Systems, Software, Design, Compliance, and Hardware engineers in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Present design solutions to program leadership and stakeholders for release into the product baseline.
