Raytheon in El Segundo, CA is seeking Principal Linux and Windows System Administrators to design, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient IT environments supporting classified programs and cross‑functional teams.

You will collaborate with Cybersecurity to satisfy security requirements, perform system hardening, backup, and incident response while ensuring high availability and DoD compliance across Windows and Red Hat platforms.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or a master’s with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI Poly clearance required; U.S. citizenship.
• Experience administering Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience with RHEL setup, security management, backups and restores.
• Experience with Windows OS and Windows Server OS.
• Experience with NetApp storage solutions.

Principal Linux & Windows System Administrators, based in El Segundo, CA, infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with many teams to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment, using troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues, including hardware and OS integration, while adapting to evolving challenges as part of a team.
• Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
• Develop solutions and documentation about a variety of technical problems.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification)

• Experience with backup technologies such as tape libraries and backup software (NetBackup or the like).
• Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
