Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead cloud-native and Kubernetes initiatives across our managed services. You will shape architecture, guide multiple product teams, and ensure scale, security, and performance on our IaaS platform.

You’ll mentor engineers, drive standardization, and partner with leadership to deliver simple, powerful Kubernetes-based offerings for customers globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
• Experience building and scaling managed Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Expert knowledge of container runtimes and orchestrators.
• Proficiency in Go, Python or Bash and cloud-native architectures.
• Ability to mentor teams and drive architectural excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross-team architectural oversight for cloud-native efforts.
• Act as a unifying technical authority for cloud-native initiatives.
