Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and scale Java frameworks and microservices for cloud and on-prem deployments. You will lead standardization, champion security and performance, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet business goals.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural strategies, and stay ahead on emerging technologies, including AI, to advance enterprise platforms in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Java (Core Java & EE), Spring Boot, and related Spring frameworks.
• Proven experience building scalable microservices and frameworks for cloud (AWS) and on-prem deployments.
• Advanced knowledge of API design, development, and security for enterprise-grade solutions.
• Relational database skills with SQL and data modeling for high availability architectures.
• Strong experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and cloud-native development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and JUnit/test frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to senior leaders and drive technical strategy.
• Demonstrated thought leadership in AI integration, AI engineering and RAG within enterprise frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java frameworks and microservices at scale.
• Lead adoption of coding patterns and best practices across the org to ensure consistency.
• Architect secure, high-performance frameworks for cloud and on-prem deployments (AWS).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align integration strategies with business goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers to foster continuous learning.
• Identify gaps and drive improvements in frameworks, processes, and operations.
• Serve as SME and advisor on technical strategy across teams.
• Ensure enterprise-grade security, monitoring, and documentation for frameworks.
• Lead POC initiatives evaluating new technologies for potential adoption.
• Drive automation to improve operational stability and reduce recurring issues.
• Explore and integrate cutting-edge technologies (cloud, streaming) into products.
