JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking a highly motivated Principal Infrastructure Architect to join our team! This is a remote position, ideally suited to candidates in the Pittsburgh/Camp Hill, PA area or those with easy access to travel to the area for occasional meetings.

The Principal Infrastructure Architect serves as one of the most senior infrastructure architects and technology futurists at the company. The incumbent will have a direct impact on the strategy, architecture and innovation agenda for infrastructure and our interconnected partner organizations. This person will be instrumental in turning strategy into practical, pattern-based architecture in alignment with our business needs. The candidate will regularly interact with senior level leadership, simplifying complex problems and needs into a relatable narrative that enhances decision making. They will act as a driver for infrastructure strategy, championing the direction and synergies across our business units and corporate functions. This job will act as a "technology visionary" for infrastructure, with the ability to influence strategy and behaviors within areas of responsibility and throughout the company. This job requires experience in all areas of architecture with an emphasis on infrastructure and cloud technologies. The ability to communicate and deliver a meaningful story at all levels of the organization and to our customers is essential. This job requires a high level of skill in driving and influencing business outcomes and consensus driven decisions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with the business stakeholders to develop Enterprise Architecture deliverables that articulate the business strategy, business outcomes, business capabilities and other elements needed to support business outcomes such as investment and cost analysis.
  2. Develop and implement HM Health Solutions technology innovation agenda to ensure that HM Health Solutions is a leader in the application of technology to our various businesses. Interface with the businesses and executive management on strategies with alignment to technology and innovation.
  3. Develop and maintain HM Health Solutions enterprise wide technology architecture strategy which catalogues the existing architectures, identifies areas for synergies and provides guidelines to maximize the return on investment across the enterprise.
  4. Provide leadership and direction to integrate architecture best practices into critical processes and disciplines such as acquisition/purchasing, vendor management, portfolio/program management and project management.
  5. Develop the solution architecture function to support HM Health Solutions most important and complex initiatives.
  6. Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  1. Bachelor's Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field

Substitution

  1. 6 years of relevant, progressive experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred

  1. Master's Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
  2. 8+ years' of technical expertise in both mainframe and/or open systems environments (system software, application software, databases, etc.)
  3. 10+ years' experience in the healthcare industry
  4. 10+ years' of experience in IT solution delivery
  5. Large enterprise experience with complex heterogenous IT environments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Experience in leadership and management of IT environments of appropriate scale and complexity, ideally either leading an architecture organization or a group within an architecture function
  2. Experience in all aspects of Senior Architecture roles, including leading the development and execution of comprehensive IT strategies and roadmaps and the development and execution of architectural requirements and technology standards
  3. Broad and deep IT platform and application expertise
  4. Strong understanding of modern infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code, Containerization, and SD Data Center
  5. Excellent ability to engage senior business and IT leadership to understand the goals of the organization
  6. Clearly communicate business strategies and articulate dependencies and requirements to business leaders.
  7. Strategic thinking and the ability to influence innovation to establish and execute planning processes
  8. Excellent organizational skills, strong analytic and conceptual skills and solid financial analysis skills coupled with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  9. Highly proficient at influencing the organization at a business, executive and technical level
  10. Demonstrates solid understanding of the health care industry trends and directions

Pay Range Minimum:

$108,000.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$201,800.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
