Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems LLC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Infrastructure to shape the technical direction of the compute, storage, and networking platforms powering our AI-first cloud. This leadership role spans the Linux kernel, hypervisors and virtualization, distributed storage, network fabrics, and control planes that tie them together.

You will mentor engineers, guide architecture decisions, and work with Product, Hardware, and Infrastructure teams to build a reliable, scalable

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating large-scale infrastructure in production, ideally cloud or hyperscale.
• Strong systems programming in C/C++, Rust, or Go with performance focus.
• Extensive Linux kernel and scheduler knowledge; memory and I/O stacks.
• Experience with virtualization, GPU/CPU topology, and multi-node workloads.

Responsibilities

• Shape long-term compute, storage, and networking direction and turn it into practical plans.
• Lead architecture reviews and code reviews for critical infrastructure components.
• Work on virtualization, SR-IOV, vDPA, virtio, and device passthrough for GPU workloads.
• Advance high-throughput, low-latency storage and NVMe-oF across pipelines.
• Collaborate on GPU fabrics, high-speed networking, and AI cluster architectures.
• Contribute kernel modules and high-performance drivers across stack.
• Mentor engineers, partner with product and hardware teams, and drive reliability.
• Evaluate new infra tech and share learnings across the org.
