Job summary
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer to lead operations engineering in a manufacturing setting. You will monitor labor, manage capacity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a secure environment.
Requires a STEM degree, 5 years (or 3 years with a Master’s) of Operations/Manufacturing experience, and U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or related STEM field with 3 years of experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required; active Secret clearance preferred or ability to obtain.
Responsibilities
- Monitor labor performance and develop plans for improvement.
- Monitor capital resource loading and develop capacity management plans.
- Define and document process designs (product routings).
- Lead Continuous Improvement activities (e.g., 5-S, VSM, 6-Sigma).
- May establish accident prevention measures and manage training programs for personnel.
