Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a hands-on Principal IAM AI Engineer with an AI-first mindset to build identity architecture for AI agents, copilots, and autonomous workflows across global travel technology: booking platforms, payment flows, traveler data, and supplier integrations.

You’ll deploy authentication, authorization, credential management, and compliance tooling to enable safe AI adoption; lead a technical team; and align controls with regulatory standards while integrating with the AI development

Qualifications

8+ years in IAM/cybersecurity, with 5+ years at architect or principal level owning target‑state design for an enterprise security or identity domain.

Responsibilities

Deploy and automate identity controls at runtime for NHI identity with immediate authentication verification and real‑time access policy application.
Build lifecycle governance for agents and machine identities including discovery, registration, permissions, credential rotation, and secure retirement.
Construct credential management systems for AI workloads with automated secret cycling and short‑lived credential issuance.
Establish zero‑standing‑privilege access models for agents and workloads documented through infrastructure‑as‑code and policy frameworks.
Collaborate with application development and ML teams to embed identity requirements early in AI initiatives and ensure human users are governed as needed.
