Job summary

American Express Global Travel is seeking a Principal IAM AI Engineer in the United States to lead identity, access and governance for non-human identities, AI agents, and agent-driven workloads. You will design secure, scalable authentication, authorization, and secret-management architectures, and guide a team delivering these capabilities across global platforms.

• 8+ years in IAM/cybersecurity with architect-level experience.
• Designs identity, access, and governance for non-human identities at enterprise scale.
• Strong AWS IAM design experience, including ephemeral credentials and least-privilege.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and automate runtime identity controls across environments.
• Govern machine identities, credentials lifecycle, and access reviews.
• Build credential workflows for AI workloads and agents.
• Define zero-trust, fine-grained access models via IaC and policies.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to embed identity in design from day one.
• Lead engineering teams and set technical direction for IAM programs.
