Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Principal IAM AI Engineer who brings an AI-first mindset to identity architecture. You will design and implement authentication, authorization, credential management, and compliance frameworks enabling responsible AI across the organization.

You will lead a technical team, collaborate with AI and application teams, and embed identity controls from day one in AI initiatives while ensuring governance for human users and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IAM/cybersecurity with architect-level ownership.
• Experience designing identity, access and governance for non-human identities.
• AWS IAM design experience at multi-account scale.
• Hands-on with Okta and Saviynt.
• Experience with PAM platforms such as CyberArk and HashiCorp Vault.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and automate runtime identity controls across the environment.
• Govern machine identities and agentic system lifecycle.
• Credential workflows and secret management for AI workloads.
• Establish zero-trust access models for agents and workloads.
• Collaborate with AI development and ML teams across all initiative phases.
• Roll out identity governance for human users per standards.
• Coordinate compliance, risk alignment and audit support.
• Lead engineering team and set technical direction for IAM programs.
