Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to lead and develop high-reliability avionics hardware for HUD systems. You will guide hardware design from concept to production, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance across the full lifecycle while coordinating with software and systems teams.

The role emphasizes technology leadership, rigorous validation, and staying at the forefront of aerospace hardware trends in a collaborative Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field with 15 years of hardware engineering experience, or

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced circuit design from concept through production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and ensure seamless integration with software and systems engineering.
• Perform requirements development, circuit design, schematic capture, PCB design support, and comprehensive hardware validation to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis during development and qualification phases.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with emerging hardware technologies and aerospace industry trends to drive innovation in product designs.
