Job summary

OPSWAT in Tampa seeks a Principal Hardware Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of our security appliance portfolio across critical infrastructure markets.

You will lead end-to-end from market requirements through certification and mass production, collaborating with hardware engineering, supply chain, and software teams to deliver scalable, certifiable platforms with strong cost controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience with at least 6 years hardware product management for networked, embedded, or appliance-class products.
• Deep understanding of the NPI process and gate model (Concept, Proto, EVT, DVT, PVT, MP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to brief executives and write a defensible business case.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year hardware roadmap across the appliance portfolio, including SKU strategy and platform consolidation.
• Drive the full NPI lifecycle from Concept to Mass Production with gate criteria and go/no-go decisions.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle stages: GA, sustaining, EOS/EOL, last-time-buy, and customer migration paths.
• Define and publish lifecycle policies (support windows, RMA terms, spare parts SLAs).
• Own appliance P&L levers: BOM cost targets, ASP, margin, and inventory exposure.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, software PM, compliance, and supply chain to align on roadmap and certifications.
