Job summary

Procore is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Directory team in Austin. You will set technical direction across Go-based backend and React/TypeScript frontend, and lead migrations from Ruby to Go while keeping the system resilient and scalable.

You will own GraphQL API design, drive event-driven architecture with Kafka, and ensure strong observability and CI/CD pipelines. This is a hybrid role based in the Austin office with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction for the Directory domain across backend and frontend services.
• Lead GraphQL API design and federation through the gateway.
• Oversee the Ruby-to-Go migration and CDC pipeline for legacy sync.
• Champion event-driven architecture using Kafka streams.
• Ensure strong observability, testing, and containerized deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Product leadership.
