Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in California seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Guidance Navigation Controls Engineer to join the South Bay Vehicle Engineering team, with roles in El Segundo or Rancho Bernardo.

You will design and verify flight control algorithms for manned and unmanned air vehicles, develop software and simulation tools for GNC, and support flight test activities and design reviews throughout the program lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with professional experience in flight dynamics or guidance, navigation and control.
• Experience with fixed-wing flight dynamics and linear control principles.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for data processing and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify flight control algorithms for aerial vehicles.
• Create and integrate simulation tools for GNC in software/hardware-in-the-loop setups.
• Develop outer/inner loop control laws and related autonomy logic.
• Support flight tests and analyze data for design reviews (PDR/CDR).
