Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer or Principal Engineer, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to support the CoreVMS team in San Diego, CA. Hybrid work schedule available; commutable from San Diego/Rancho Bernardo.

Develop and modernize GNC tools and simulations for multiple aircraft programs. The role involves designing algorithms, developing control laws, and integrating models into a live software/hardware-in-the-loop environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM and at least 2 years of experience or a Master’s in STEM with no experience.
• Level 3 requires 5+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 3 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with 0 years.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, verify and test algorithms, software and simulation tools.
• Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance and stability margins in ground and flight tests.
• Create linear and nonlinear dynamic simulation models and integrate into software/hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Perform nonlinear 6DOF simulation analysis.
