Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our Advanced GNC team in Rancho Bernardo, CA or El Segundo, CA. This on-site role focuses on developing GNC algorithms, software, and simulations for next-generation air vehicles.

Responsibilities include creating control laws to meet performance and stability requirements, building dynamic models for hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and supporting design reviews and flight tests.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
Experience on a team of GNC engineers.
Proficient with Matlab, Simulink, and autocoding Simulink models.
Must have or be able to obtain US Government Secret clearance and SAP access.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, verify and test GNC algorithms, software and simulation tools.
Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance, flying qualities and stability margins.
Create air vehicle system models and integrate into simulation environments (HIL/RTL).
Develop modern control laws and conduct trade studies on control effectors.
Address complex design problems and drive innovative solutions.
Prepare analyses to support design reviews (PDR/CDR).
Analyze flight test data and support flight test activities.
