Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Development Coordinator to support Principal Gifts fundraising within the Medicine and Biological Sciences Development (MBSD) team. The role involves coordinating fundraising activities, donor communications, and data management to help meet annual goals.

Under supervision, you will plan events, work with vendors and campus colleagues, and prepare materials for volunteers and leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• 2–5 years of work experience in nonprofit development or related field.
• Experience with fundraising, alumni relations, or events.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Supports MBSD fundraising teams and executes fundraising activities.
• Coordinates logistics of meetings, events and staff meetings.
• Assists in event planning, vendor coordination and campus collaboration.
• Drafts correspondence and documents for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepares gift allocation forms and generates reports for leadership.
