Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates (HCEA) seeks a seasoned geotechnical engineer to join our team in the Lehigh Valley region. The role focuses on hands-on geotechnical engineering, report preparation, field support, and mentoring junior staff across multiple public and private sector projects.

Qualified candidates have 12+ years in geotechnical consulting, a PA PE or reciprocity plan, and strong communication skills. Local relocation is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil/geotechnical engineering.
• P.E. license in Pennsylvania or reciprocity within 3 months.
• 12+ years of geotechnical consulting experience.
• Willingness to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical and materials testing/inspections teams on diverse projects for public and private sectors.
• Prepare geotechnical reports/calculations and provide technical review.
• Review construction inspection daily field reports and perform site visits.
• Potentially assume Managing Principal responsibilities depending on qualifications.
