Job summary

Iron EagleX, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Information Technology, seeks a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Crystal City, VA team. You will design, develop, deploy, and sustain software and data capabilities across analytics frontends, APIs, and data layers to support critical customer requirements.

You will work with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to transform complex data into practical insights.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in software engineering.
• US Citizenship required.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance currently possessed or must be able to obtain Top Secret SCI + Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, maintainable Python code following best practices.
• Build analytics web apps, dashboards, and analytics experiences using Streamlit or similar tech.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and data access layers with Python frameworks like FastAPI.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and aggregation for analytics.
• Work with Postgres/MySQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with analysts and data engineers to deliver analytics solutions.
• Create reusable components and data services for reporting and operational analytics.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and container deployments (Docker) to enable reliable releases.
• Implement version control with Git and maintain coding standards.
• Apply software engineering best practices to improve scalability, maintainability, testability, and reliability.
• Ensure solutions meet security, quality, and compliance standards.
• Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle.
