Job summary
Heart Aerospace seeks a Staff/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for Flight Mechanisms to own the design, fabrication and testing of critical flight components. You will lead subcomponent development such as gears, bearings and seals, and ensure environmental qualification and certification readiness in coordination with electrical and software teams.
The role requires extensive CAD experience, strong fundamentals in design and analysis, and a passion for aircraft electrification.
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience using CAD software in a professional environment.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design, analysis, and fabrication.
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electromechanical systems.
- Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Design, development, validation and certification of flight mechanism components.
- Own the design, fabrication and test of key flight components and subcomponents.
- Lead design of gears, bearings, seals and other critical parts.
- Work with cross-functional teams on electronic and software control systems.
