Job summary

Micron Technology's Firmware & Product Test (FPT) team is hiring a Principal Test Development Engineer to lead front-end firmware validation for enterprise SSDs. You'll own verification strategy and drive automation across NVMe front-end features.

You'll mentor engineers, define test coverage, and collaborate with firmware architects to influence testability and design decisions, leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate validation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in CS/EE or related field with relevant firmware validation experience.
• Expert-level Python with production-grade test automation.
• Strong NVMe front-end feature validation expertise.
• Proven failure analysis and debugging skills.
• Ability to lead initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Excellent communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware verification strategies for NVMe front-end features.
• Manage end-to-end test development lifecycle from planning to coverage closure.
• Lead root-cause analysis using logs, analyzers, and traces.
• Architect scalable test automation frameworks and CI/CD integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and influence cross-functional testability decisions.
• Present validation status and risk assessments to stakeholders.
