Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Principal Facilities Engineer Level 3 to advance reliability and operational efficiency across a multi-building campus.

You will interact with maintenance technicians, support project engineers, manage capital needs, and lead risk assessments while coordinating with internal and external partners. The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years, building automation experience, CMMS proficiency, and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM with 5+ years in Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Controls; or Master’s in STEM with 3+ years; or PhD in STEM with 1+ year.

Responsibilities

• Interact with maintenance technicians as SME on Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Building Automation/Controls.
• Review plans for new builds and modifications for consistency and maintainability.
• Support facility growth in construction, modification, operation and production.
• Ensure equipment uptime and optimal performance.
• Develop and implement machine monitoring strategies for reliability-centered maintenance.
• Prepare presentations and reports on Operational Equipment Effectiveness.
• Develop standard specs for future equipment purchases.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet sector goals and initiatives.
• Maintain a living document tracking capital and project needs; assess risks and provide cost estimates.
• Manage vendors including building controls contractors and occasional mechanical/electrical/general contractors.
• Collaborate with in-house project engineers and contractors for seamless startup and integration.
