Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Facilities Engineer to oversee reliability and operability across a multi-building campus including office, manufacturing, and lab spaces. You will partner with maintenance techs and project engineers to review plans, ensure system compatibility, and drive uptime.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with 5+ years in reliability/maintenance (or MS with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year). DoD Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor of Science in STEM with 5 years in Reliability, Maintenance, or related fields or MS with 3 years or PhD with 1 year.
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and CMMS systems.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interact with maintenance technicians and act as SME on Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Building Automation/Controls.
• Review plans for new builds and modifications for compatibility and maintainability.
• Support facility construction, operation, and production activities.
• Ensure equipment uptime and implement preventive maintenance procedures.
• Develop and implement machine monitoring to predict failures using vibration and temperature analysis.
• Prepare reports detailing Operational Equipment Effectiveness for assigned machines.
• Assist in developing standard specifications for future equipment purchases.
• Manage vendors, mainly building controls contractors, and coordinate cross-departmentally.
