Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Principal Estimator in Aiken, SC to lead cost estimation efforts for complex projects. The role requires deep experience in engineering, construction, and project controls, with a focus on cost and schedule accuracy.

Candidates should bring a minimum of 10 years in related fields, strong analytical abilities, and effective communication skills. DOE clearance within the past two years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or equivalent in related field with 5 years' practical experience.
• Bachelor's with 7 years' experience or Associate with 11 years or HS diploma with 15 years equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, operations, estimating, scheduling, project controls, proposal development, or project management.
• Strong problem solving, analysis, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Site Business systems; understanding cost and schedule control at tactical level.

Spectra Tech is hiring for a Principal Estimator in Aiken, SC.

Required Skills:

• Master's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 5 years of practical experience. Bachelor's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 7 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. An Associate's degree and 11 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A HS diploma and 15 years of relevant experience would also be considered equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, operations, estimating, scheduling, project controls, proposal development, and/or project management.
• Five years of experience demonstrating knowledge of desired area of subject matter expertise.
• Reviews work for completeness as required by project specifications and scope definitions.
• Candidate must have strong problem solving, analysis and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
• Possesses practical experience in the use of the Site Business systems.
• A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project management and cost and schedule control at the tactical level would be necessary, along with a knowledge of operations, maintenance, or project startup and construction.

Preferred Skills:

• Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
