Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX seeks a Principal Software Engineer – EO/IR Simulation & Emulator Product Owner to guide modeling capabilities for a new AES program. You will define product vision, maintain backlog, and coordinate with AES Chief Software Architect and program leadership to meet system requirements and program integration events.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with EO/IR simulations, modeling environments, and emulator-driven workflows.
• 3+ years as Product Owner, Agile lead, or similar role in software development.
• Experience translating technical concepts into clear product requirements.
• Experience collaborating with software, systems, and integration engineering disciplines.
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance with ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision for simulation and emulator capabilities.
• Develop, refine, and prioritize user stories and emulator requirements.
• Collaborate with Chief Software Architect and program Software Architect on modeling product alignment.
• Coordinate with IPTL to keep deliverables aligned with constraints.
• Engage with internal teams and customers to synchronize deliveries with timelines.
• Support agile execution by clarifying acceptance criteria and backlog items.
