Raytheon engineers deliver trusted modeling and simulation capabilities for mission‑critical EO/IR systems. Within the Advanced EO/IR Systems (AES) product line, this position provides mid‑level product leadership dedicated to simulation framework development, emulator requirement definition, and alignment of modeling capabilities with program integration needs.
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer – EO/IR Simulation & Emulator Product Owner to guide capability development for modeling, simulation, and emulator software supporting a new program within the AES product line. This role focuses on defining simulation product vision, maintaining disciplined backlog prioritization, and coordinating with program technical leadership to ensure modeling capabilities align with system‑level requirements and customer integration events. The Product Owner will collaborate closely with the AES Chief Software Architect, program Software Architect, and IPTL to produce simulation tools that support verification, interface development, and early operational assessments. This position requires strong communication skills, an understanding of EO/IR simulation environments, and experience translating technical modeling needs into actionable user stories.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
