Principal Industrial Engineer – TWT Programs (Rolling Meadows, IL)
Full‑time on‑site position at the Rolling Meadows, IL site. No relocation assistance is available. Secret clearance required at start. DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance must be obtainable and maintained.
Role Overview
Support TWT production technology lines with a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes. Lead initiatives that enhance production efficiency and develop metrics for the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Enhance production efficiency and develop metrics for the production floor.
- Use Tableau for data visualization and reporting on major metrics/KPIs to support decision‑making across operations and leadership.
- Lead cross‑functional production metric reviews and drive root‑cause analysis for issues.
- Manage and analyze databases to drive insights and continuous improvement activities (standard work, 5S, storage optimization, and root‑cause analysis) to reduce waste and improve labor efficiencies.
- Maintain and update routings, standards, lot sizing, and batching rules in SAP; collaborate with materials planning to ensure accurate part master data.
- Analyze lead times, queue times, work‑in‑process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand efficiently.
- Develop optimized scheduling that aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.
- Perform bottleneck analysis, simulation modeling, and value stream mapping to optimize product flow and critical paths through the factory.
- Lead cost and inventory control and reduction efforts; identify and implement inventory levers and lot sizing strategies.
- Establish or support training programs for production operations to sustain process improvements and standardized work.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production improvement, capacity planning, or industrial engineering roles.
- Experience with data visualizations and reporting.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP (material master, routings, MRP) and familiarity with MRP planning concepts.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
- Experience in forecasting, line balancing, and capacity modeling specifically in ramping/opening new production lines.
- Experience with static and dynamic capacity modeling using modeling and simulation software.
- Experience with Minitab Statistical Software.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (Formulas: VLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, IF statements, pivot tables, pivot charts, etc.).
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.

Primary Level Salary Range
$98,900.00 – $148,300.00
