Job summary

Southern Nuclear seeks a Principal Engineer III to support the Vogtle EPU technical basis team. You will conduct technical basis research, document review, and evaluate engineering reports to support plant performance upgrades.

Responsibilities include summarizing technical information, preparing basis documentation, and coordinating with engineering personnel to ensure accurate, organized documentation throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required, or 5+ years of direct relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong engineering research and technical document review skills.
• Experience reviewing engineering analyses, calculations, or design documentation.
• Strong technical writing and summarization skills.
• Ability to understand complex engineering information and communicate findings clearly.
• Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical assignments.

Responsibilities

• Research and retrieve information from Plant Vogtle technical basis documentation.
• Review technical analyses, engineering calculations, and modification design packages.
• Summarize technical information per Southern Nuclear formats.
• Prepare technical basis documentation for review and approval.
• Utilize AI-assisted search capabilities for technical research.
• Perform detailed technical reviews of reports from internal or external sources.
• Evaluate reports on plant performance and EPU-related activities.
• Identify issues, gaps, or areas needing clarification and provide clear feedback.
