Job summary

Vitalize Care in San Francisco is building the labor and capacity operating system for health systems. You will design and own the decision engine that recommends staffing actions and integrates with workflows, while collaborating with product, design, and other engineers to deliver intuitive software for clinicians.

You’ll work directly with clinical leaders to understand how staffing decisions are made, and you’ll help explain why recommendations are made, supporting trust and override when

Qualifications

• Expertise with TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to reason through edge cases.
• Experience working across the full technology stack.
• Comfort working with customers to understand problems and rapidly improve the product.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the decision logic behind staffing recommendations, alerts, and workflows.
• Own systems balancing staffing rules, hospital policies, patient needs, and constraints.
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver complex, user-friendly software solutions.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to understand how staffing decisions are made.
• Build explanations for why a recommendation was made to enable trust and override when needed.
• Define boundaries for automation vs. human judgment to scale hospital operations safely.
• Continuously improve the system using customer feedback and real-world outcomes.
