Job summary

Vitalize Care is hiring a frontend/backend engineer to own the decision engine for hospital staffing. You will design logic for staffing recommendations, alerts, and workflows, partnering with Product, Design, and other Engineers to deliver scalable, user-friendly software.

You’ll collaborate with clinical leaders to understand how decisions are made and build explainable, trust‑driven software that can be overridden when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proficient in TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Strong full‑stack experience across frontend and backend components.
• Comfortable engaging with customers to understand problems and feedback.
• Demonstrates ownership and accountability for shipped software.
• Clear, proactive communication with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to reason about complex edge cases and system behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the decision logic behind staffing recommendations and workflows.
• Own the systems balancing staffing rules, policies, patient needs, and constraints.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineers on scalable solutions.
• Work with clinical leaders to understand how staffing decisions are made.
• Build explainable recommendations that users can trust, validate, or override.
• Define safe boundaries where automation ends and human judgment begins.
• Continuously improve the system using customer feedback and real-world outcomes.
