Job summary

Teradata seeks a Principal Engineer, Domain Knowledge, to define and build the next generation of enterprise-scale data discovery, metadata management, and governance capabilities. You will own architecture for data catalogs and knowledge assets, enabling discovery across datasets, tables, documents, APIs, features, metrics, models, and knowledge assets.

The role combines leadership with hands-on engineering in metadata, distribution, and governance, spanning acquisition, curation, runtime

Qualifications

12+ years building large-scale data platforms and metadata systems.
5+ years leading enterprise data catalog, metadata management, or discovery.
Strong experience inventorying and indexing thousands to millions of assets.
Expertise in metadata ingestion, modeling, lineage and governance.
Distributed systems and cloud-scale production experience.

Responsibilities

Design and lead enterprise data catalog and metadata platforms.
Ingest metadata from databases, data lakes, warehouses, streaming platforms, APIs, BI tools, AI platforms, and SaaS.
Establish standards for technical, business, operational, and governance metadata.
Design lineage capture and metadata synchronization across ecosystems.
Build metadata knowledge graphs linking datasets, pipelines, dashboards, AI models, and owners.
