Job summary

Teradata seeks a Principal Engineer, Domain Knowledge, to define and advance the enterprise data discovery, catalog, and metadata management capabilities across Finance, Healthcare, and other verticals. You will own architecture and the evolution of systems enabling analysts, data scientists, AI agents, and business users to discover, understand, trust, and govern data assets across Teradata’s ecosystem.

The role combines deep product thinking with platform leadership, spanning knowledge

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience building large-scale data platforms, metadata systems, search platforms, or knowledge management technologies.
• 5+ years leading architecture and implementation of enterprise data catalog, metadata management, or data discovery platforms.
• Proven track record designing systems that inventory and index thousands to millions of enterprise data assets.
• Deep experience with metadata ingestion, metadata modeling, lineage, governance, and data asset management.
• Strong software engineering background with distributed systems and platform engineering.
• Experience building highly available cloud-scale systems in production environments.
• Expertise in at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Define and own architecture for enterprise metadata platforms and data catalog capabilities.
• Lead strategy and execution for Teradata's Context Engine Domain Knowledge.
• Build, operate, and evolve data discovery, inventory, and governance systems at scale.
• Drive cross-team collaboration across data engineering, governance, and AI initiatives.
