Job summary

Teradata is seeking a Principal Engineer, Domain Knowledge, to architect and guide the next generation of data discovery, cataloging, and metadata management at scale. You will own the enterprise context engine and govern data assets across finance, healthcare, and other verticals, enabling AI agents and analysts to discover, understand, and trust data.

You will lead the development of metadata models, governance, and knowledge graphs while aligning with regulated enterprise requirements.

Qualifications

12+ years of experience building large-scale data platforms, metadata systems, search platforms, or knowledge management technologies.
5+ years leading architecture and implementation of enterprise data catalog, metadata management, or data discovery platforms.
Proven track record designing systems that inventory and index thousands to millions of enterprise data assets.
Deep experience with metadata ingestion, metadata modeling, lineage, governance, and data asset management.

Responsibilities

Lead design and build of enterprise-wide data catalog and metadata platforms.
Oversee ingestion of metadata from databases, data lakes, warehouses, streaming platforms, APIs, BI tools, AI platforms, and SaaS apps.
Drive vision for making organizational data discoverable like products in a catalog.
Establish standards for metadata and governance across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
