Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Principal Engineer to set the technical direction for Engineering Core Services. You will own architecture across the Core Services portfolio, including identity, commerce, and entitlement services, coordinating across product lines and senior leadership.

The role supports a hybrid arrangement in Austin, TX; Houston, TX; or Denver, CO, with virtual consideration for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Strong architectural leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Deep experience with CIAM concepts and identity platforms.
• Cloud-native architecture and modern platform patterns.
• Experience influencing senior engineers and stakeholders.
• Security, privacy, and regulatory considerations in shared services.
• Experience with multi-product platforms and migrations.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and RFC-driven governance.
• Experience with OAuth/OIDC/SAML and federation patterns.
• Comfortable in a rapidly consolidating, post-M&A environment.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, 2-3 year roadmap, and decision authority across the Core Services portfolio.
• Own the CIAM platform architecture and consolidate onto a modern shared identity foundation.
• Lead subscription and billing platform strategy, including evaluation of build/buy/hybrid.
• Drive standardization of contracts, entitlements, and catalog models.
• Define integration patterns and platform standards for product engineering teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and represent Core Services in executive forums.
• Engage with stakeholders on cross-product architecture questions.
• Set privacy, security, and regulatory posture for shared services.
