Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the Jeppesen Distribution Manager across desktop and mobile, blending native and cross‑platform technologies to deliver reliable, AI‑assisted solutions. You will lead architecture, ensure feature parity with legacy apps, and collaborate with product, QA, avionics, DevOps, and other teams to ship production-ready experiences.

Preference for in-office from Denver or Austin with quarterly to bi-monthly in-person; remote work is

Qualifications

• Experience building desktop or mobile apps in mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in systems/backend languages (Rust, C++, C, Java, Kotlin, Swift).
• Strong frontend experience (React or similar).
• Cross-platform desktop/mobile framework experience (Tauri/Electron or React Native/Flutter).
• Solid knowledge of macOS/Windows/Linux, packaging, signing, and filesystem access.
• Ability to diagnose device-dependent production issues.
• Experience using AI coding assistants while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
• Ability to operate independently as a senior IC with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of desktop and mobile apps, improving architecture and performance.
• Lead development of mobile applications.
• Build workflows for writing aviation data to USB drives, SD cards, and other media.
• Define long-term desktop architecture and AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product, QA, avionics, DevOps, and other teams to deliver a production-ready experience.
