Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead architectural innovation across teams. You will shape the long-term technical landscape, align engineering with product outcomes, and raise the bar for system quality and scalability.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive cross-functional initiatives, and design robust, observable backend and frontend patterns to support fast growth and personalized care delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional software engineering with deep architectural expertise.
• Proven track record shaping technical strategy at group or org level.
• Backend tech: Kotlin, Java, or Go; strong systems design for scale.
• Frontend: React/Next/GraphQL experience is a plus.
• Experience scaling shared infrastructure and libraries across teams.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architectural vision for customer-facing systems.
• Lead cross-org initiatives addressing long-term scale and foundations.
• Establish patterns ensuring quality, resilience, and operational excellence.
