Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Principal Engineer/Architect to lead architectural vision for Ford Pro Intelligence SaaS platforms. You will guide data‑intensive backend services, APIs, and frontends, driving architectural standards and cross‑team collaboration.

You’ll mentor engineers, partner with product leaders, and shape the roadmaps for scalable, reliable products used by fleet customers. This role emphasizes high performance and cloud‑native design.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership/architectural responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing and building scalable, data‑intensive web apps and SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development with Java or Kotlin; experience with React or AngularJS.
• 5+ years relational DBs (PostgreSQL), NoSQL, and high‑volume data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical roadmap for large‑scale data‑intensive SaaS apps.
• Mentor, lead, and coach engineers across teams to uphold technical excellence.
• Partner with Product/Design/Business to shape product strategy and translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Scope, estimate, and blueprint multi‑quarter enterprise initiatives.
