Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Principal/Sr Principal Engineer Energetics Manufacturing to provide testing support at the Promontory, Utah site. The role centers on mechanical testing of rocket motors, initiation systems, and energetic devices with a strong emphasis on safety and tooling design.

Responsibilities include developing test processes, coordinating safety protocols, and presenting technical data to customers and suppliers. Level may be 3 or 4; requires a B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication to create clear planning for operators.
• Detail-oriented and able to see the big picture.
• Able to qualify for ATF Explosives Possessor designation and DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop environmental, structural, dynamic, and static test processes for aerospace components.
• Define tooling, handling, and operational needs for testing.
• Review requirements, coordinate safety protocols, and document test processes.
• Present technical data to internal/external customers and suppliers.
• Work in test facilities and at offsite locations to solve complex testing challenges.
