Job summary

Synopsys in Austin, Texas seeks a Principal Application Engineer- Emulation to lead engagements with customers deploying ZeBu and other emulation platforms, optimizing performance and driving verification progress on complex SoCs. You will mentor and collaborate with R&D to close gaps and validate features before shipping.

You will engage directly with customers, diagnose issues across hardware, RTL, testbenches and software, and shape strategies to keep tapeouts on schedule while delivering

Qualifications

• 10+ years with hardware emulation platforms and deployment/debug/optimization.
• Deep RTL knowledge in Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL and RTL optimization.
• Experience with UVM/constrained random testing and coverage-driven verification.
• Strong SoC/ASIC architecture understanding and co-verification flows.
• Scripting in Python/Perl/TCL for automation and data analysis.
• Proven ability to debug across RTL, testbenches, emulation hardware and software.
• Customer-facing roles in field applications or technical consulting.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagements deploying ZeBu or other emulation platforms and diagnose bottlenecks.
• Design emulation strategies for complex SoC/ASIC projects and bring-up sequences.
• Collaborate with R&D to validate features and influence roadmaps.
• Develop and deliver technical training sessions and best practice guides.
• Troubleshoot emulation failures in live customer environments and root-cause issues.
• Mentor junior engineers in emulation methodologies and customer engagement.
