Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our power conversion team, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced power electronic systems and components for high reliability Navy and commercial applications. Your contributions will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring mission-critical performance, reliability, and sustainability in critical applications.
What You Will Do• Lead the design and development of power electronic systems, including converters, inverters, and control systems, from concept to production.
• Define technical requirements and specifications based on project goals and customer needs.
• Conduct detailed analysis, simulation, and modeling of power electronic circuits and systems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software engineers, and mechanical designers to develop power electronic components and systems.
• Perform design verification, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with Customer and contract specifications and performance requirements.
• Apply Design for X (DfX) methodologies including but not limited to Design for Cost, Design for Test, and Design for Manufacturability into the products being developed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to power electronics design processes and methodologies.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Other preferred qualifications include: magnetic component design experience, experience in digital control of power electronic systems, working knowledge of military standards for power quality and EMI, experience with OSHA and NFDA 70E Electrical Safe Work practices, medium voltage design experience
