Job summary

Astronics CSC is seeking a Principal Staff Electrical Engineer to design PCBA-level electronics, develop robust electrical system architectures, and lead EMC/EMI qualification activities. This onsite Lake Zurich, IL role requires deep EMI/EMC expertise, strong debugging skills, and the ability to mentor engineers and interns on cross‑functional programs.

The successful candidate will oversee hardware bring‑up, BOM control, and regulatory testing, while collaborating with global teams to ensure

Qualifications

BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering from an accredited university program with a minimum of 20 years’ experience.
ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout, preferably Altium Designer.
Team player and methodical self-starter able to complete projects in a timely manner.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design PCBA level with BOM management, revision control, hardware bring-up/debug, and issue tracking.
Develop electrical system architectures and multi‑layer PCBs including high-speed up to 10 Gbps and RF/IEEE standards.
Lead product verification and testing including test reports and scripts.
Provide direction and mentorship to engineers; coordinate with Ukraine engineers and CAD staff.
