Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to support a critical product sustainment program. The Engineer will perform hands-on troubleshooting of failed hardware, establish requirements for obsolete components, conduct trade studies on replacement parts, lead functional testing, and support technical sustainment initiatives alongside the Chief Engineer and program leads.

Duties:

The product involves power supplies, analog receivers/transmitters, processors, FPGAs, RF switching, antennas, and digital communication interfaces such as MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and RS-170. The candidate should have significant experience or aptitude in these areas and will:

  • Perform hardware testing and troubleshooting, possibly at customer sites.
  • Lead or support ERBs/CCBs as the system's Electrical Engineer.
  • Support manufacturing during build and repair activities.
  • Participate in test equipment updates and modifications.
  • Assist in government certification of test equipment modifications.
  • Lead sourcing or designing replacement parts for obsolete items.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field and 6+ years of experience; Master’s preferred.
  • Strong understanding of RF design principles.
  • Experience with electrical design analysis and testing in RF, analog, and digital signals, including RS170 video, power supplies, embedded microprocessors.
  • Proficiency with electrical engineering design tools and technical documentation.
  • Experience in system integration, testing, and qualification, supporting ECPs.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance.
  • Defense program management or IPT experience.
  • Experience with Z80 and Z8000 microprocessors, planning ECPs, RF circuit design, and military systems.
