Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Digital Engineer or Sr. Principal Digital Engineer to join the SWDT Technologies Organization in Morrisville, NC. You will help develop and maintain software for cutting-edge systems and advise on digital transformation initiatives.

The role requires a Secret Clearance, strong FPGA and firmware background, and collaborative, proactive teamwork to meet challenging performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field; 5–8 years of related experience depending on level.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Design, verification, simulation and testing of FPGAs.
• Utilize modeling and simulation tools to expedite development and testing of firmware updates.
• Develop test plans and implement verification and validation processes for digital designs.
• Adhere to coding standards, revision control practices, and peer review procedures.
• Conduct tests using high-speed instruments and FPGA debugging tools; analyze data.
• Provide Systems Integration and Test support and lead on-site testing of digital designs.
• Manage design constraints (timing, power, I/O) and perform static timing analysis.
