Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Development Engineer, Principal (DevOps) to design, develop, launch, and support our corporate DevOps pipeline operations.

The role requires frequent engagement with stakeholders and senior leadership, driving automation of CI/CD and continuous improvement across the company. Responsibilities include administering GitLab/Subversion, building Docker images, automating processes, and mentoring teams on DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) is required.
• 12+ years of experience managing diverse DevOps operations and tooling (GitLab, GitHub).
• 5+ years containerization experience with Docker or ECS on Windows and Linux.
• Experience with one or more major cloud providers (Azure, AWS).
• Strong scripting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains DevOps pipeline operations supporting automated CI/CD for corporate releases.
• Creates and maintains Docker images and containers.
• Identifies and automates manual processes.
• Develops and maintains software installation tools, processes, and packages.
• Mentors stakeholders and delivers on project schedules.
