Job summary

Iron EagleX, a subsidiary of General Dynamics IT, seeks a Sr Principal Platform Engineer to lead secure, scalable cloud-native platforms on DoD missions. You will guide architecture, DevSecOps, and SRE practices across programs, enabling reliable mission-critical software and services.

The role emphasizes AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and secure by design platforms with collaboration across government stakeholders and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years designing and supporting enterprise DevOps, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, or cloud environments.
• Five or more years designing and deploying secure, highly available cloud-native solutions in AWS.
• Two or more years of software development experience, preferably supporting production or customer-facing systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture or engineering efforts across multiple applications or teams.
• Extensive experience with enterprise Kubernetes platforms and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for Platform Engineering, DevOps, and DevSecOps architecture across multiple projects.
• Lead design, modernization, and improvement of secure, scalable cloud-native platforms.
• Architect secure AWS solutions with cloud networking, routing, load balancing, and zero-trust.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and industry best practices.
• Design Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Crossplane, and related tools.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with government stakeholders on roadmaps.
