Job summary

Block is seeking a Principal Designer to join the Cash App Banking team and lead high-stakes design work. You will own zero-to-one initiatives, set the craft bar, and translate complex financial and regulatory logic into clear, warm experiences across banking surfaces.

You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders, shape long-term design vision, and advance system-wide patterns while actively mentoring peers and practicing hands-on design.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing exceptional craft and systems thinking.
• Experience shipping zero-to-one products, not only iterating on existing ones.
• Mastery of interaction, visual, and systems design for complex problems with high trust.

Responsibilities

• Own complex, ambiguous Banking initiatives end to end, from early exploration through shipped product
• Drive zero-to-one product experiences that are strategically sharp and visually distinctive
• Set and hold the quality bar for Banking design, defining excellence in your work
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Research as a trusted peer
• Prototype early and often, using AI and emerging tools to shorten the idea-to-use cycle
• Shape long-term product vision and design strategy across Banking surfaces
• Contribute to and extend systems and patterns Cash App is built on
• Elevate the designers around you through critique and mentorship
