Job summary

Nexperia USA Inc. in Richardson, TX invites an experienced Principal Design Engineer to lead analog/mixed-signal IC development for power management products.

You will drive circuit architectures, model behavior, and simulate at transistor level to meet part definitions. You will mentor designers, collaborate on IP and front-end tech roadmaps, and coordinate with validation, test, and production teams to ensure smooth transfer of designs to manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus 5 years in related work; or Bachelor's with 8 years progressive experience.
  • 5 years in Analog/Mixed Signal design; 3 years in system/app design.
  • Experience with product development and design verification.

Responsibilities

  • Work with analog/mixed signal IC design team to develop power management products.
  • Define and implement circuits and architectures for product development.
  • Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to transfer to production.
  • Guide physical designers and monitor IC layout progress.

Job description

Principal Design Engineer, Nexperia USA Inc., Richardson, TX:

Work with an analog and mixed signal IC design team to develop power management products like switching regulators, load switches, and LDO's. Define and implement circuits and architectures for product development. Build systematic level behavior model and design whole chip at transistor level to meet part definition. Demonstrate technical and team leadership to drive product designs. Collaborate with technical leadership on the development of IP and front-end technology roadmap. Work and provide guidance to physical designers and monitor the progress of IC layout. Partner with business teams and product marketing teams to assist in developing design specifications. Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production.


Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of work experience.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.


Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:



  • Analog/Mixed Signal design;

  • Cadence tools, including Schematic Editor, ADE Assembler, Spectre, AMS, and Layout Suite for analog/mixed-signal IC design and simulation;

  • Troubleshooting and fault analysis to complete IC design during product development;

  • Defining product specification with product marketing team to ensure product performance.


Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in system and application design.


Telecommuting permitted up to two days per week.


Domestic travel required up to 15%.
